Lazuli Bunting Print and Greeting Card

Yet another bird from my list of requests is completed!

The Lazuli Bunting is a bird that has a range almost throughout western North America.  It ranges all the way from Mexico to the very southern parts of Canada. In my area of Humboldt County in northern California, it's here for their breeding season. They migrate at night, and are common in southeast Arizona down through Mexico.

The male bird has a brilliant blue coloration (thus the lazuli--as in lapus lazuli, the blue pigment hue) with a lovely orange collar smattering that sometimes descends a bit onto their neck. 

Again, this bird was completely rendered by hand, one stroke at a time, in Procreate on my iPad Pro. I love that app. I've done enough of these to make things happen relatively swiftly, and you can watch the livestream recording below (If it's not there, it's because I delete the livestream recordings after a calendar year because of the expense of keeping them stored on MakerTube):

You can also watch the condensed speedpaint of the image below, viewing how each stroke was recorded with a snapshot of the canvas as I progressed. Procreate automatically saves the speedpaint, which is really convenient!
